Ruskin St Townhouses
Four new townhouses in Melbourne’s leafy suburb of Elwood provide a new model of medium-density living in the area.
Bordered by Ruskin Street and Elwood Canal, the design addresses the site’s unique boundary conditions in a sympathetic and generous manner. The scale, setback and materiality of the Ruskin Street frontage sits comfortably within its domestic context, while the northern interface revitalises the canal-edge.
A collaboration with sustainability consultants HIP V. HYPE has created a 7-star project, targeting zero net emissions in operation, with a combination of passive and high-tech sustainability strategies. Whilst, flexible internal layouts have been designed to accommodate a variety of lifestyles and family structures.
