3 Railway Ave, Amardale
This six townhouse development draws upon the architectural character and materiality of post-war multiunit developments in the surrounding suburbs.
Its prominent street frontage is activated by hit-and-miss brickwork, which not only provides screening to ground floor windows but also acts as a textured backdrop to street activity. At night, this becomes a patterned illuminated facade. The upper levels are screened from the western sun via operable timber shutters.
