Seaford Primary School
The Seaford Primary School project modernises an existing primary school. Through carefully integrated purpose-built facilities, refurbishments and unified landscape design, the project aims to inspire educational growth within the school, the broader community and to support the school’s educational vision.
The design strategy proposed an internal and partial external demolition to the existing Administration Building and the partial relocation of pre-existing school programmes. The objective was to provide new school facilities that supported the functional needs outlined in the Educational Specification and Pedagogical Vision. The masterplan was conceived and designed around a new central “heart” plaza that provides the school community with a revitalised central gathering space for various activities whilst simultaneously connecting two neighbouring streets.
The design brings a natural palette of materials and simplified skillion roof forms in reference to the local environmental and architectural context across the new structures, with the intent to provide a unified design language that supports the needs and aspirations of the school.
This project is situated on the traditional lands of the Bunurong People of the Kulin Nation.
