2 Barry St, Brunswick
Situated on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, these townhouses are a celebration of Brunswick’s existing local housing and industrial typologies, presenting a flexible new model for inner-city medium-density living.
The two parallel sets of townhouses take their form and materiality from the surrounding vernacular, a homage to Brunswick’s Victorian terraces and brick warehouses. They utilise familiar spatial and tactile qualities in a contemporary way.
The project embraces natural landscaping as an integral design element. On-street planting as well as a generously landscaped elevated walkways provide ample opportunities for both public and private communal outdoor amenity. Rooftop winter gardens and external decks connect residents to their broader surroundings.
